Original Rügener Dreikronen – Heilkreide^®

Approximately 70% of the chalk from the island Rügen consists of chalk particles with a size of 2 to 3 µm. These are the skeleton residues of the cocolithophorides. Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® (medicinal chalk from the island Rügen) is a peloid, i. e. inorganic and organic substances; in a finely grained and comminuted condition they are used for mud or pulpy baths and packs. In the dry substance, Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® consists of app. 98 % calcium carbonate. Other constituents are magnesium, iron, aluminum, and phosphor compounds. The silicic acid content is very low and that is why Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® is best-suited for bath applications.

The good thermal properties belong to the most important characteristics of Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide®. For mineral muds it has got a good water holding capacity and in connection with, this a relatively high sediment volume. These characteristics guarantee a good thermal storage. Examinations demonstrated that chalk baths compared to e. g. fango mud baths give off heat slower.

One more positive characteristic of Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® is its fineness. The favorable grain size distribution and the high silt portion (smallest grain particles) result in good possibilities regarding sorption (sorption = leaching the waste products out of the human skin and binding the relatively large surfaces of the chalk particles). Furthermore, the pleasant subjective perception feeling should be pointed out.

Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® is white and odorless and for this reason it is felt to be clean and pure. The creamy-pasteuse chalk paste feels absolutely gentle to the skin. Last not least, the easy handling and trouble-free disposal belong to the advantages of this peloid.

A new product is the exfoliant grade, made of Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® with a particle size of 63 - 125 µm. It is eminently suitable for use in face and body scrubs, since it neither irritates nor attacks the skin.

Original Rügener Dreikronen Heilkreide® is available in the following pack sizes: 25 kg paper sack, 2 kg paper bag, 750 g folding box and 500 g paper bag; the exfoliant grade comes in a 1 kg PE tub.
